Precision in Practice: Chris Boersma Turns Complex Problems into Clear Solutions

Pario Quantify – Specialty Spotlight Series

In the world of complex loss consulting, precision is everything. For Pario Quantify’s Chris Boersma, accuracy isn’t just a technical requirement, it’s the foundation of trust. With a background in civil engineering technology and a career spanning fieldwork, estimating, and cost consulting, Chris brings both technical mastery and a calm approach to every assignment. In this line of work, clarity is his craft.

“I’ve always been drawn to the problem-solving side of construction,” he says. “No two projects are the same. You’re constantly learning, constantly adjusting, and that’s what keeps it interesting.”

From Fieldwork to Forensic Precision

Chris began his career in materials and quality control, testing concrete, asphalt, and soils before moving into estimating and project management. That early, hands-on work taught him how to read beyond the data to see patterns and context. It’s the same instinct he brings to every complex loss today. Whether dissecting the cause of a structural failure or analyzing rebuild costs for a large-scale municipal loss, he focuses on finding clarity amid the unknown.

Since joining Pario Quantify, Chris has earned a reputation for reliability and rigor across Western Canada’s most intricate files, such as the Castledowns Pointe fire (an $8-million condominium rebuild that demanded precision and community sensitivity) and the John Janzen Nature Centre water-main loss (where his methodical approach delivered a defensible scope and cost model under tight timelines).

He’s also led assessments for educational facilities in Edmonton, Jasper, and Rocky Mountain House, each testing his ability to balance accuracy with urgency. “Scale doesn’t change the process,” he notes. “A $5-million claim is just a $500,000 claim with tighter controls and more people watching.”

Clarity Through Consistency

Those who work with Chris often describe him the same way: calm in the chaos. He’s known for communicating with the kind of steadiness that builds confidence. His reports are detailed yet readable, offering pragmatic recommendations.

“Clarity builds trust, and that starts with communication,” he says. “When everyone knows where things stand, even bad news becomes manageable. The unknown is what causes stress, so I make it a point to keep people informed.”

Chris’ work is also defined by his discipline. He’s methodical, dependable, and relentless about getting the details right the first time. This quiet confidence has made him a trusted partner on high-stakes projects, leading by example within the Specialty Division.

“I’ve never been interested in being the loudest person in the room,” he says. “I’d rather let my work speak for itself.” It certainly does – through the clarity of his estimates, the strength of his documentation, and the confidence it inspires in every client who reads his reports.

Precision That Builds Trust

For Chris, his work is all about credibility. Each report must stand on its own as clear, complete, and defensible. Each file, no matter the scale, requires the same discipline to stand up to scrutiny and earn lasting trust. For adjusters and clients, that steadiness is invaluable in restoring confidence after a loss.

“Good consulting isn’t about guessing right,” Chris says. “It’s about proving right.” That’s why he handles every file with quiet, steady precision – the kind that builds confidence where it matters most.
