National Property Specialist - Full-time (Vancouver, British Columbia)
Role Summary:
Reporting to the National Director, ParioQuantify™, this position will offer “best in class” Pario services and products to new and existing customers. As National Property Specialist, You will perform the necessary work to provide liability specification and actual cash value (ACV) appraisals, catastrophe appraisals and appraisals under the Insurance Act, Insurance to Value appraisals. You have a strong understanding of the restoration process and are proficient in the use of Xactimate. You are experienced with building codes and basic electrical and plumbing techniques. Using your field expertise you will perform site inspections, quality surveying, measuring and specifications to provide pricing of various structures. Utilizing time management skills and your marketing/sales knowledge will assist you in meeting daily, weekly, and monthly productivity requirements.
Role Responsibilities:
- Perform the necessary work to provide replacement costs and actual cash value valuations on various residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
- Produce specification bid documents including general conditions, specifications, scope of work, bid sheets for building damage repair.
- Provide recommendations on protection from further damage as well as recommendations to repair or replace building.
- Provide verification of type and cause of damage – hail, water, etc.
- Complete audit and file reviews on completed jobs
- Provide appraisals on residential and commercial buildings.
- Provide bid documentation including general conditions, specifications, scope of work, bid sheets for building damage repair.
- Provide recommendations on costing, length of time to repair or to replace dwelling.
- Responsible for submitting well written, documented appraisals.
- Appraisals, file audits and reviews to adhere to RMS quality standards.
- Invoice a minimum of 37.5 billable hours weekly / 1950 billable hours annually.
- You will also promote all rmsQuantify™ services to ClaimsPro adjusters to help RMS to achieve its budgeted annual post loss appraisal revenue.
Education, Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Diploma in Construction/Building Science, Construction Management, Architectural or Civil Engineering Technology
- Minimum 3-5 years estimating and project management experience in construction, restoration or insurance industry required
- Working Knowledge of Xactimate Claims Software is required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, good computer skills and ability type a minimum of 35 wpm.
- Capacity to learn various electronic and manual estimating systems.
- Exposure to construction industry and interpretation of building codes is an definite asset
Environment/Work Conditions:
- Property specialists need to be mobile and physically able to investigate the scene, when required. They are required to work varied hours including dayshifts and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to travel as extensive travel is a requirement of the job
- Ability to lift/move up to 40lbs
- Sit, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, and climb to investigate damaged property
